The Level 4 ISTD Diploma in Dance Education 

The Ofqual regulated Level 4 Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) is the primary qualification for you to become an Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing qualified teacher.

The Level 4 Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) is an achievable and streamlined teaching qualification that provides student teachers with a clear and cohesive pathway to becoming a qualified dance teacher with the ISTD.

Fees

Students who are training on Renaissance Arts’ 3 Year Dance or Musical Theatre Courses can study this qualification alongside their vocational training across 2 – 3 years. Learning for all units is included in the training fees with additional fees due for examinations and assessments.

You can also apply to study for this qualification as an external candidate opting to train towards all 5 units or complete individual units to ‘top up’ what you have completed elsewhere. Please get in touch for more information on External candidate fees and schedules.

Qualifications

The full DDE qualification awards 120 credits at Level 4 on the Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) in the UK and the Credit and Qualifications Framework in Wales (CQFW). This equates to 120 credits at Level 5 of the European Qualification Framework (EQF).

The diploma is recognised by Ofqual and is on the Register of Regulated Qualifications Framework at Level 4. This means that it is equivalent to first year study of a Bachelor’s undergraduate degree with Honours or an HNC.
